Chester Township Fire Company
Volunteer With Us
Chester Township Fire Company is a public safety agency serving all the citizens, visitors and businesses in the Township of Chester, Delaware County, Pennsylvania and our surrounding mutual aid communities. We are dedicated to the protection of the lives and property of our residents and community partners and strive to deliver excellence in our commitment to those who work and call this area HOME. We strive to teach the next generation the importance of fire safety and what they can do to help aid us in our mission.
Being a firefighter is so much more than bringing the wet stuff to the hot stuff, we are a community. We are a brotherhood and sisterhood made up of approximately 37,000 individuals here in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. We respond to fires, assist to medical calls, car accidents, and so much more. We engage with not only our community but those around us as well. We build relationships and connections with other fire companies to ensure the safety of all our communities.
We serve side-by-side with our Firefighter brothers and sisters ensuring their continued safety. Most of us were once active firefighters ourselves at one point during our volunteer careers. While we are not officers of the law, we are sworn officers with limited police powers to protect firefighters from dangers outside the scene they are working on. Our role is to help protect those protecting you. We do this through a variety of ways including blocking and directing traffic away from active situations as requested and ensuring that every firefighter gets to return home to their family.
